Sean Casey Animal Shelter

a twelve-month calendar shoot to benefit this worthy non-profit

When the welfare of animals is at stake, projects take on a deeper sense of purpose and urgency. The creative brief for this calendar shoot focused on how lives—both human and canine—are dramatically transformed by adoptions made possible via the efforts of Sean Casey Animal Rescue.

Images shot on location by Kimberly featuring dogs (and their humans) rescued by the shelter, were transformed into 12-month, full-color, large-format calendars that used the negative space of each dog’s portrait for graphics. The calendars were offered for sale via a dedicated website and at various fundraisers to help support the rescue’s important work.

Sean Casey Animal Rescue (SCAR) is a community based organization and takes in over 2,000 animals per year, the most of any other private rescue in New York.  SCAR has saved over 8,000 animals from the city’s Animal Care & Control, alone, since 1998.
